On the morning of April 27, Associate Professor Lou Yijun of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University gave an academic report entitled "Stage Structure Model and Theoretical Analysis with Periodic Development Delay". The lecture was presided over by Professor Zhang Zhitao, Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences, and attended by Professor Wang Jun, Vice Dean, teachers and graduate students in biomathematics, applied dynamic systems and control and other related fields.
Professor Lou first introduced two types of commonly used stage structure models based on integral equations and partial differential equations. In order to facilitate the mathematical analysis of the models, the two types of models can be reduced to ordinary differential equation models or delay differential equation systems under the further assumption of developmental stage distribution. In addition, we also introduce how to extend the model to take into account the periodic development period and how to analyze the dynamics of the derived periodic delay differential equation system.
After the presentation, Professor Lou Yijun gave patient and detailed answers to questions of concern. Professor Zhang Zhitao made a concluding speech to the lecture.
